Prothro Residence
9000 square foot addition and renovation to an existing Dan Ogelsby designed home. The new design consists of true contemporary with a Texas accent. The remodel of the existing two-story home consists of removing the existing façade and roof, then replacing it with a four-inch Texas limestone facade and a Bermuda shingle copper roof. The renovation of the interior of the existing structure features the installation of hardwood flooring, an underfloor HVAC system, an elevator, a newly designed custom kitchen, a metal monumental staircase, and custom millwork throughout. The 2500 square foot addition to the home consists of a pier and beam foundation with a two story tower facing Turtle Creek consisting of a custom curtainwall façade on all sides. The curtainwall façade has decorative fins and a flat roof system. The garage has a new custom glass garage door and the east end of the home features South American Almondrillo hardwood siding with a Texas limestone deck, adjacent water features, an outdoor trellis sitting area, and extensive landscaping.
