New Mexico State History Museum & Theater
A new 100,000 square foot facility will feature historic and interactive displays. The project will include a 375-seat performing arts theater which can also be used as a movie theater. The project is to be built directly behind The Palace of the Governors, which was built in 1610 and is located on the Plaza in Santa Fe. As the oldest public building in the United States, the Palace is the current state history museum of the State of New Mexico, and will remain in operation after the new facility opens.
