J.R. graduated Texas A&M with a B.S. Construction Science, followed up with his Master’s from the University of Texas at Dallas and joined Team Byrne as an Office Engineer in May 2001. During his 20+ years tenure with Byrne, he has held every operational position from Office Engineer to Construction Manager. As Vice President, Director of Operations, J.R. is responsible for Byrne’s operational staff and oversees the development and implementation of our teams on our projects. Client “thank you” letters continually speak to J.R.’s outstanding work not only in project delivery, but in building relationships. Each one highlighting his personal commitment to the project’s Owner and their individual vision for project success.

His long list of happy clients include the City of Fort Worth, City of Arlington, City of Azle, City of Coppell, Tarrant County, City of Wylie, Parkland Hospital, TCCD, JPS Hospital, Tarrant County College and First Presbyterian Church of Dallas.

J.R. is a graduate of Leadership Fort Worth and a 2017 honoree of the Fort Worth Business Press 40 Under 40 Award.

His leadership lead to the successful implementation of Procore Project Management Software companywide and his passion for teaching and sharing knowledge can be felt in our Operations training.

If you venture out west towards Aledo you might spot J.R. and his wife, Jennifer, on the weekends at any number of baseball tournaments cheering for their son Kason. J.R. has a passion for vintage hot rod projects and spends a lot of his time working in his speed shop on the weekends.
