Texas A&M-Commerce Music Building
This project includes a new, two level, 70,000 sq. ft. music building facility on the Texas A&M – Commerce campus. The facility includes a drilled pier/slab-on-void boxed foundation. The structural slab also includes a topping slab enclosing an acoustic membrane at all acoustically sensitive areas. The building includes a steel structural framing system, a brick masonry façade, a curtain wall and aluminum storefront glazing system, a single-ply roofing system, and a four-pipe chilled water HVAC system. The facility includes a concert hall, two recital halls as well as choral, band and percussion halls. Included also are individual practice rooms, a music education room, faculty studios, administrative office and classroom space. Practice rooms include double acoustic walls, layered acoustical ceilings, as well as sound door assemblies. There are also dedicated piano practice rooms, organ practice rooms and percussion practice rooms. The five-hundred thirty-four seat concert hall includes operable acoustic curtains, stage area, operable tuning doors, reflecting clouds, raised seating plus balcony, sound and light locks, as well as A/V systems.
